On 3rd November 2014 the IBIS Team were awarded the 2014 Cancer Research UK Prize for Translational Cancer Research at the NCRI Cancer Conference in Liverpool. Accepted by Professor Jack Cuzick and some of the team, the prize recognises the achievements of the IBIS-I and IBIS-II breast cancer prevention trials. These trials found taking preventive drugs such as tamoxifen and anastrozole can substantially reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in women at high risk of the disease.
This is a great achievement for the IBIS Trials and would not have been possible without the participation of all patients, past and present, of the IBIS-I and IBIS-II trials.
