I obtained a MBBS and then a MD in Preventive Medicine in India. Before joining the IBIS-II team, I worked for an International Breast and Cervical Cancer Study of 150,000 women in Mumbai, India. I joined the IBIS-II Bone study in March 2004, as a study co-ordinator. Along with working full time on the bone study, I am also doing a part-time PhD looking at the effect of anastrozole on bone mineral density. This work was recently recognised at a Breast Cancer Conference in Texas, where I was given the ‘Astrazeneca Clinical Scholars Award’. I am currently in the final stage of writing the PhD thesis along with analysing the data and writing papers for the scientific publications.
