Encouraging early results from bone sub-study
Jan 2008
Early results from the bone sub-study show risedronate (a type of osteoporosis drug) can protect women from the loss of bone density associated with anastrozole. The results showed that after one year on the trial those women taking risedronate had increased their bone mineral density despite starting the trial with low bone mineral density and being at a higher risk of developing osteoporosis.
