Who can take part in the IBIS-II DCIS study?
Women can take part in the DCIS study if they:
- Have been diagnosed with a hormone receptor positive DCIS within the last 6 months
- Have had surgery to remove the area of DCIS
- Are aged between 40 and 70
- Have been through the menopause (their period was 12 months ago)
Women cannot enter this study if they:
- Have had (or are planning to have) their breast removed (a mastectomy)
- Have had any other cancer in the last 5 years (except non-melanoma skin cancer or carcinoma in situ of the cervix)
- Are taking medication to thin their blood
- Have had a stroke
Women should discuss all options with their doctor before making a decision to take part in IBIS-II DCIS.
